COVID-19: daily case counts skyrocketing

COVID-19 daily case counts are skyrocketing to new records in both the U.S. (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-updates/cases-in-us.html) and here in Georgia (https://dph.georgia.gov/covid-19-daily-status-report), largely in young adults. This was entirely predictable as a consequence of a perfect storm of contagion, ignorance, and lies. Unfortunately, we will ALL bear the consequences for many months to come. The U.S. situation sharply contrasts with that of the EU countries (https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/cases-2019-ncov-eueea), which have it under control and are successfully and safely reopening, thanks to intelligent, coordinated national policies based on science rather than politics.
