New Book on Practicing and Neuroscience

The book is: "Learn Faster, Perform Better: A Musician's Guide to the Neuroscience of Practicing" by Molly Gebrian. It is a fascinating look into what current research into neuroscience can teach us about practicing and performing. The author holds degrees in both music and neuroscience from Oberlin College and Conservatory, New England Conservatory of Music, and Rice University.

She also has a webpage where she has videos and some teasers about the methods she describes in her book:

She has also published the appendix to her book, "A Complete List of Practice Strategies", on her webpage: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/62d41f4e5352371c9d792542/t/66aa5bfa8bbdee7b22dd1dc4/1722440698583/Gebrian+Appendix+A.pdf

Highly recommended!

I had a look at her website and one of the lessons there, shortly after you posted this. Last week I got back to it and purchased the book. I'm a few chapters in and totally hooked. Thanks for sharing this.

Dear Sam, Thank you so much for introducing this book. I already read a half of this book in several hours, while I'm not a fast reader. It was easy to understand and provides a lot of great tips. I truly recommend this book.
