Insider tips for interacting with healthcare providers


1. Beware of rushing to a solution before fully understanding the problem. This principle is too often violated out of laziness or incompetence, sometimes with disastrous results.

2. Beware of a procedure primarily motivated by financial benefit to the provider rather than health benefit to the patient. The benefit to the patient relative to risk and cost should be clearly explained beforehand.
