A CDC panel has just recommended that people aged 65 and older get a second updated COVID-19 shot even if they got the updated COVID-19 vaccine that became available in September 2023, according to a 2/29/24 article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Protection wanes over time. Patients should wait at least 4 months after the first shot before getting the second shot. The goal is to stay out of the hospital.
