Beethoven's Deafness, Other Ailments, and Death Re-Examined

Recently a friend of mine mailed me an interesting article published in The Pharos / Winter 2022 edition titled "Beethoven's Deafness, Other Ailments, and Death Re-Examined". This was a critical review of all of Beethoven's lifetime physical ailments, an examination of why he might have lost his hearing, and an examination of what caused his death. In short, the article concludes that "...Beethoven's diagnosis (or diagnoses) will forever remain a mystery." I hope you enjoy the article as much as I did. And thank you to my friend who thought of me when he read this article.
