The first ever GMG Virtual Musicale was held on April 22, 2020. The following were in attendance: Utako Tanigawa, Julie Woodall, Carol Wazlavek, Shoko Tanaka, Nancy Dunn, Gail Starr, and Kimber Kwiatkowski. Everyone was happy to see each other during this time of isolation. Julie played the Theme and Finale to ABEGG Variations by Robert Schumann which was great, especially the parts where her dog Suzy sang along. Carole gave us a virtual tour of her very nice studio, including her digital audio workstation. She played Blue from Sonatina in Colors, a soothing piece perfect for this pandemic time, by Kevin Olson. To conclude the performing, Shoko masterfully played Etude in F minor, Op. 25 No. 2 by Frederic Chopin. Attendees also were able to say hello to her son Sean.
Most of the time was spent talking about this moment in time, the changes to everyone’s lives, and possible future musicales and education sessions, including video and audio editing and cyber security.
