GMG Interview Series-Cathy Thacker

Cathy has a degree in English Education, but studied piano throughout college. She teaches piano students from Pre-K to adult. She is the President of the Gwinett Music Teachers’ Association and the President-Elect of the GA Music Teachers’ Association. Cathy began her study of music when she was in 4th grade. She has a humorous story she shares about how it all began. Cathy’s favorite composer is Beethoven, and she is very passionate about his music. Cathy has done collaborative playing. She has accompanied the church choir, high school choir, instrumentalists, and participated in piano duos and trios. Cathy continues to learn as she attends music conferences and symposiums.
