Abbie Hattauer


Abbie Hattauer, a 2010 transplant from Long Island, New York, has a varied music background.  An avocational piano player for more than 40 years, she is currently studying classical guitar with Chad Shivers and sings in the choir of the Emerson Unitarian Universal Congregation in Marietta.  Her operatic experience came as a member of the Island Lyric Opera Company based in Garden City, New York where she performed in more than a dozen major operas and operettas for over twenty years. As their mezzo soprano soloist she sang such roles as Suzuki in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Amneris in Verdi’s Aida, Siebel in Gounod’s Faust, Annina in Verdi’s La Traviata, Zozo in Lehar’s Merry Widow, Lola in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, La Principessa in Puccini’s Sour Angelica and Prince Orlofsky in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus.
